How do sellers on ebay make money?
I found items on ebay that are sold for $0.01 (with about $14 for shipping). So how the heck do they make any money?
I just bought a USB 2.0 PCMCIA card for $0.01 and had to pay $16.49 for shipping.

EBay doesn’t get ANY of the shipping costs, so some people have found a way to make sure eBay gets as little as possible, by charging 2-3xs the cost of actual shipping for the item. They only have to pay eBay from the sale price (generally .99 or less) and a small cost for the category they placed the item in to sell. The rest is their money. I don’t sell that way because eventually eBay may go under if enough people decide to work that scam. It is also rough on some customers who do not check the shipping costs before they bid. They end up with a HUGE surprise when they see the shipping and handling fees.

How do sellers on Ebay make money while listing an item multiple times when it never sells?
I notice alot on Ebay how sellers will relist the same item over and over again. How in the heck do they make money on ebay doing that when it cost to put the item up for auction?

I assume as long as the profit generated is much more than the listing price, as long as they can sell.. They win. So it would be best if they sold it. Which is why its a good place for thieves, as they would make 100% profit if they sold it

How do these people on Ebay make money?
I have been looking for a particular computer part that people are selling on Ebay for $40 more than I can buy it for at Newegg. These are power sellers too not just some guy who bought it and doesn’t need it. It’s not just computer stuff either. I’ve noticed it with other items also. I also followed some of these auctions to the end and the items do not sell. So how can a power seller be making money if this sort of thing is happening?

Power sellers don’t pay for ads that don’t make a sale. Sometimes the companies use the ads as simply ads for their home website.

Where do they buy their stock from and how much profit do they make?

They either buy even cheaper – estate lots, other large quantities or they are just getting rid of stuff they no longer want – profit is not an issue OR they are misrepresenting what they are selling and you’ll be getting ripped off

Im selling stuff on ebay to make a little extra cash, ive only just started and selling but only make a couple of pounds here and there. I only have a auction account and cannot afford much. At the moment im just selling unwanted items from my home, such as, clothing, phones, toys, accessories, bedding, orniments, and more. What sort of items do you think would sell better and make a little more money for me? i dont have money to invested in buying stock from people either. Hope you can help, thanks.
