I know some moms try to tell a potential employer that their experience as a mom will help in their new career… And maybe it will, but I think this is the wrong way to go. I would not make an issue of your two years off. Just present your resume with the job experience you had two years ago. You can mention that you took time off to devote to your family when you go in for an interview, but also point out ways in which you have stayed in touch with the business world during that time.

Personally, I applaud you for taking time off for your kid(s). Good luck in your return to work.

Resumes are extremely important, contrary to one answer. And I agree with the others, Homemaker is a very valid career. You have had to manage the household accounts, use effective time management skills, marketing research which products are best for your household, food planning and preparation, transportation coordinator for the kids, effectively manage family members through appointments, social events, school meetings, etc. … And you did all this without an executive assistant. Anyone who doesn’t consider all those qualities doesn’t deserve someone as dedicated as you. Good luck !!!

Just because you weren’t paid does not mean you have no experience. Volunteer work is work.

List it if it is relevant, if it won’t raise eyebrows, if you have been there a long time, AND you have concrete skills that you gained from the experience.

Stuffing envelopes or holding banners at rally’s might not something you want to list unless you are going for a receptionist / crossing guard type position. However, if you are going for the position of bookkeeper and you sat on the board of a non-profit and helped with the budget, that could be relevant. If you have been volunteering someplace in a real capacity, list it.

Yigly Admin answers:

Being a stay at home mom will fill in the employment gaps you may have from not working outside the home.
I would create a functional resume and highlight your skills, talents, and abilities, rather than where and how long you worked. That way you can use some of the things you learned/used as a mom, homemaker (or whatever they are called in this politically correct society). For example, say you were the chairperson for the PTO fund raiser. You don’t have to write it was for PTO, just that you were the chairperson whose event raised over $100,000.
Employers really want to know what you can do for them so that they will make money. That is truly the only reason people hire others. Your resume is the vehicle to tell them that.

Yigly Admin answers:

Make a list of the skills you have used as a stay at home mom and daycare provider. Make the list very detailed. Start by making a list of tasks you have performed. Then list the skills required to perform those tasks. Now you have a list of your skills.
Make a list of jobs where the same skills are required. Now you have a list of possible jobs you can apply for.
Write the resume so that you emphasize your skills rather than your employment history. This is called a functional resume. Put your skills at the begining of the resume, followed by your employment history in brief form ( where, when, what your main duty was, keep it very brief because you are emphasizing skills and not duties). Education and references follow that. Done.

WANTED: teacher opinions!?

My research project aims to explore the use of self-contained activities in FE Art & Design classes, possibly in a regular slot such as every Monday morning. These activities can range from skill-learning sessions to games that do not relate to the student’s project, to discussions on topical issues. I am interested to find out how often activities like this take place and why they do or don’t happen. The paper aims to look at how the activities can benefit students, as well as hopefully raising the sense of autonomy for teachers. (all information will be kept anonymous)

1.Do you conduct regular short activities with your students (e.g. 10-30 minutes every Monday morning)?

2.If yes, how often?

3.Are these… Practical, Motivational, Team Building, Skill-learning or other?

4.If no, why not?

5.If you would want to set up a regular activity, when would you prefer them to take place?

6. Do you think these activities need to be related to current tasks/projects, or are simple ‘team-building’/motivational sessions ok?

7.Do you think that activities such as this allow… Greater creative input by you, Greater cohesion among colleagues, Opportunity for improved student/tutor relations, or any other benefits?

8.Please leave any comments that you feel may be relevant to this topic.

So have you guys heard of this? Apparently a small town in Oklahoma City had an election in which, John Hamilton or whatever his name is became the youngest mayor in American history. (At the age of 19) so as a future politician/foreign affairs major, this has opened up my eyes a little. Although I’m only 21, I feel as if I could be doing more! But what? How do I gain popularity/strength in my city? Constructive criticism only please! Although I am reminded what my father used to tell me back when I was young, “don’t try to be a great man, just be a man, and let history make its own judgments” thank you and God bless. In any case you would like to see my resume, to view what have I accomplished so far, you’re more than welcome.

Would you vote for me? Class elections.?

Good afternoon, I stand before you today to tell you why I will make the best president for the class of 2013. We have finally started high school, it is a new year in new school and now it is time to choose how the next the four years will be, when elected I promise make sure your time in the Dallas High School is the best it can possibly be. Over the years I have been a part of several things including the basketball, tennis, and track team, student council, farewell committee, and I have volunteered throughout the community these activities have helped me develop responsibility, teamwork, and leadership. In addition to this I have been able to get to know several different people from this class allowing me to know what you want. When I get elected I promise to volunteer every moment I can to making our school a better place, and raise as much money as we can. Whenever there is an issue or problem do not be afraid to consult me, or make any suggestion. I will always listen with an open mind and take everything you say into consideration. I am always open to compromise, and in the face of great challenges or hard decisions I promise do what is best for the school as a whole. I will work to build a bridge between the administration and the student body so our voices can be heard in every aspect of the school. I will not ignore any groups within the student body, we are all a part of this school and we all deserve an equal share in benefiting from it. By voting for me, you’re ensuring you are appreciated with what you bring to the school and I promise to use my services to help the students of this class in every way possible. Malik Wilson once said “To be a freshman is to be in possession of a wonderful thing: time. There is time to figure out what you want to do with your life, time to figure out what classes you want to take, what books you want to read. There is time to make friends. You could do poorly in a class and know you had time to improve. You could mess up in your relationship and have time to make things better.
Yeah. I would definitely vote for you. Your speech sounds very mature and well thought out. I also liked the quote in the middle. XD It actually reminded me of the speech our valedictorian gave at my graduation. Haha. Anyway, best of luck. I think you’re gonna win by a landslide! Class elections were kind of a popularity game when I was in highschool, but maybe things are different in Dallas. Go Cowboys! XD

(NO: “I watched…) you use the third person -Really really cut back interests. No one is going to care what books you read or what you watch on the web. Your grammar & word choice is not quite right for english speaking, but your resume is too long to correct. Is there someone where you live who can help you with this?

Yigly Admin answers:

Team building is an effort and does not happen naturally by its own. There are numerous great ideas for team building. We all know that working in a team can give strength to any organization, company or community. A good team can do wonders in any community or organization.

For good team building it is imperative to generate good ideas to balance the things involved. It is natural that initially the team members may have certain misconception and misunderstanding between them. But gradually this misunderstanding and misconception can be solved with effective team building steps.

No doubt conflict arises in any team but there is a solution to every problem. There are numerous reasons involved in the conflict in a team and one of them is lack of trust. Lack of trust among the team members can create conflicts but can be solved with effective team building steps.

First of all, a good team requires a good team leader to lead. A good team leader should be a good source of motivation and encouragement. He should possess good leadership quality and the required aura around him. A team leader directs the team in proper channelized direction and removes the conflicts between the members.

Team leaders should also be capable of maintaining harmony and trust in the team. Proper focus and motivation should be provided by the team leader to the team. The team leader should always focus on the attainments of the objectives they are obliged to.

Generating Team Building Ideas

For those who are “born leaders” generating team building ideas is an easy task; but people who are given responsibility of handling the team based on their experience and skills can face some difficulty. Team building requires skills and dedication towards the members of the team. There are numerous team building ideas to resolve the problems and conflicts among the team members.

Team building ideas also helps to maintain balance and stability in the team. Proper presentation skills can also help you to maintain your team intact. You are able to convey your messages more clearly and precisely through good presentation skills.

Each and every team member should have clear understanding of the goals they are following. They should understand their available resources to reach their goals. They should also understand each other’s responsibilities and limits. Team members should control their parts assigned to them.

They should also understand that they can give suggestion to their counterparts and not the orders except the juniors. Giving orders can sometimes lead to a conflict among the team members because of the ego and self respect involved.

Working in Group

It is always seen while working in a group that everyone wants the credit the work they have done. This creates a conflict. Team members should understand their responsibility and should work according to that.
Building trust should be another thing to build among the team members.

Members should be open to the meetings and discussions with their peers and colleagues. Open discussions and meetings will build a trust among the members. If all the problems and misunderstandings are solved then a thick layer of trust will form. It is also important to be loyal with your team members to build a certain amount of trust.

Try to socialize with the team members in order to build the understanding and the feeling of care. Socializing will also bring openness and interpersonal communication will get strengthen.

Active Participation

Try to allow each and every member to take part in the decision process. By this, the team members will feel that they are given a certain amount of importance and belongingness. This will automatically lead to their commitment to their goal. Team members should feel that they have contributed towards the goal, solution and on important decision made. The more they feel that they are important to the team the more they will be committed towards the team. This will lead to a good team building.

Always try to inform all team members about updates, about is happening in the team.. Team members should not feel that any of the important part is hidden from them. Always set a better communication line with the team members. Communication gap will again lead to a good amount of misunderstanding and can also hamper the goals undertaken.

Also remember to resolve the conflicts between the team members as soon as it rises up. Deal with the problems among the team members as soon as those problems come up. Do not give negative feedback to any of the team members. Negative feedback can hamper their work. Always try to give positive feedback with good notes. Try not to give any negative feedback in public places to the team members.

Well you can buy stocks.

If I had 1 billion dollars, I would buy stocks such as Coca Cola that yield steady linear gains and are a solid business with a unique product that has a good management team.

For now I only have $3000 because I’m 16, so I’ve been investing in Penny stocks. In order to get rich on only 20% a year with my 3000, I’d have to keep a stock such as Coke for 50+ years.

“If a company requires initial payment from you in order to work for them, they are not legitimate.”

There are a few legitimate data entry companies but are not hiring and have large waiting lists (1-2yrs). The majority of data entry jobs you seen online are scams. A real company will want you to have skills inc fast typing, may want you to know MS Excel, and will usually ask that you have high speed internet. Once in a long while you may found one online on a job website but thats rare.

If you do an advanced search on yahoo, you will find previous answers, sometimes the info on these is good as the info they gave is likely to have been verified if the answer was voted as ‘Best’.

Remember, SEO is a lengthy process which will give you good results after doing a continuous work.

To increase page rank and for good backlinks, you can submit a unique article on weekly basis in 30-40 good article article directories. You can submit the same article with the same author name in document sharing sites.

This will be very helpful and give you good results in the coming days. For more info, you can click here

Laura J’s answer is riddled with classical MLM issues. She comes across as a nice person so people want to believe her and maybe even sign up with her, this hardly makes what she states as fact.

Let’s address:

She states the economic impossibility of making more money off of recruiting than sales. She evidently is not as educated on MLM as she professes because I can attest first hand that there are MLM companies who charge exurbanite fees to join and then offer bonuses to the reps when they sign people up. The image that its about product sales is given but the reality is its quite possible (and quite common) than one pays several hundred dollars to sign up and earns thousands merely by the bonuses for signing others up without regard to the product. As far as the economy of it all, well, in reference to the head company even if they make little or no money on the training materials that are given back as bonuses, they still stand to only gain from having the network grow as even a tiny portion of sales from each rep is a gain to them. So DO NOT be swindled by such statements as “economic impossibility” that people in MLM like to throw around to thwart you from the actual truth.

She states further that a study of Network Marketing shows that its about sales. This of course is mere rhetoric since even a simple investigation into the largest public MLM companies show that the average sales per rep are less than $100/year. Look it up on yahoo finance as all the data is there. If it was about sales as oppose to recruiting, this would not be so despicable. The fact that the head company stands to gain no matter if the rep does sales or recruits a number of people would make most people cringe if they would ACTUALLY do an investigation into the numbers.

As far as the product being in demand, this again is merely propaganda used to convince people to sign up. If the products were in such high demand, why are they only being sold through reps? Wouldn’t it be logical for the company to offer the products on its own?

It is very true that you will not make sales selling vinyl records, but you can bet if you asked the countless people with garages full of MLM product they never sold that vinyl records are hardly the only thing that can’t sell. Not to mention, considering how MLM is set up, there is chance that you could sell vinyl records because the reps joining would be the best customers buying it in droves selling the dream. Yes, I am being facetious, but the point is clear.

She also states that leverage is the reason that they don’t share how much money is being made. At this point, I really have to wonder if anyone could possibly be so easily fooled by such a line. The fact that high incomes are used to draw people into MLM. The fact is that people never are willing to prove the high incomes they used to draw people into MLM. You can call it leverage or whatever you want, but if you are going to use high incomes as a draw but can’t back it up, then you are a fraud.

The fact that it is an equal playing field has no bearing on the above. No one is debating whether people in MLM have the equality of opportunity to achieve the same thing. The fact that she would use this to answer the question regarding proving incomes is nothing but a bait and switch, where she answers a question we all agree on and tried to imply that she answered the question she had no real answer for. It is this very style of used car salesman mentality that makes MLM so dangerous because the average person doesn’t recognize this type of swindle.

She states, “what I make should not influence what someone else can make”. Yes, but when you use what you make to influence someone joining, you should be able to verify that unless you are lying and a fraud.

As far as MLM companies not going public on recruitment, perhaps again a simple investigation into the public issues with Amway would be nice. The average Amway rep sells far less than $100/year in sales. Yes, Amway itself has made billions, but its plain and simple that it is by merely having countless reps recruit other countless reps all selling the bear minimum on average. Amway does well with this, the reps do not unless you believe the commission on $100 annual is good money.

So either this public company is made up of reps making about 1 hour of minimum wage work a year in incomes, or they are making money on things other than sales. Either way, the company was able to successful go public without its reps doing large amounts of sales. As they say, the proof is in the pudding.

I would imagine being the owner of the parent company is a great way to make money as long as you can sleep at night knowing you are screwing people to make your money.

It would be nice if someone who argues for MLM would actually be able to back up the statements they say for once and actually answer the questions posed to them without redirecting to other topics, but I suppose when you have an entire industry that is complete fluff you can’t expect any better.

Yigly Admin answers:

There are no undergraduate business schools. What most people refer to as “business school” is a graduate program that awards a Masters in Business Administration (MBA). All such programs only admit students with a bachelors degree from a traditional four-year college, and most of them also expect three or more years of work experience prior to application.

There are, of course, countless undergraduate institutions with economics, finance, and similar departments. Not surprisingly, the ones that are most heavily recruited by top level investment banking, private equity, and management consulting firms are the most prestigious colleges, like Harvard, U Chicago, MIT, Yale, and Princeton, to name a few.

In the order : HEC, ESSEC(2nd), ESCP-EAP(2nd). They are the best and are in the parisian region.
Then :
-EDHEC (Lille), 4th
-EM (Lyon), 4th
-Audencia Nantes (6th)
-EM Grenoble (6th)
The French system sucks and it’s very difficult to get in a good business school. You have to prepare a competitive examination during 2 years in a classe préparatoire HEC.
If you are an exchange student it should be simpler.
INSEAD is only a graduate school. You may take an MBA there but you need to be graduated and to have some working experience before.

- Having some ‘adult’ time is really important to your sanity. It means that the time you do spend with them will be more effective (quality over quantity)

- After your kid is older and you decide to go back full time, it will be easier because you have a continuous employment record.

Many parents are single parents (sadly) Single parents naturally (99 times out of 100) are working parents. These are the parents who need child care. It’s my thought that if you NEED two incomes to live, you might want to think about living in a different location. Or have have a plan as to get one parent home to stay with the children (short term schooling to provide a better living). It’s MY OPINION that the best opportunity for a child is having a active loving parent home with them.

Last school year I worked part time as a high school english teacher. Over the summer, I was put on bed rest as I am pregnant with triplets. I also have 5 older children.

Okay, my options are to eventually go back to teaching and put the younger kids back into daycare (the majority of our kids aren’t in school yet) with the triplets OR to quit my job and be a SAHM at least until they are in preschool.
I have had the opportunity to do both. When my first was born, I had to go back to work when she was only 4 months old. It killed me to leave her so young, but at the time (and situation) it was the best for both of us (since we needed an income!) I had her stay with my best friend. When she was old enough, she came to work with me at preschool. Since then, I’ve gotten remarried and had another child. With her, I was able to stay at home for two years after she was born. That was nice. I felt like I was able to spend that precious, quality time doing what I was supposed to do… Just take care of my baby. When she turned two, I was ready to go back to work again. Since I am a preschool teacher, she was able to come to work with me like her sister before her. So, for me, I think being able to have the balance between raising your child and needing to feel like I am contributing to the family income. Plus, with my kids close by me as I work, I am not worried about what is happening with them. I have piece of mind and the knowledge that I am allowing them to have time of their own as well.

There are too many variables to answer your question honestly- The bottom live is – a Mom is a Mom whether she works at home or out-of-the-home.

If by stay-at-home, you mean stays at home and does NOTHING – Do you contrast that with “people who work and draw a salary but really DO NOTHING, (and Yes, there are many of THOSE jobs out there, too)

For example, if you are a stay at home Mom, and you ship your kids off to a public school, and have a housekeeper, and you get to read, watch TV, or SHOP all day long, your life is easier than a stay at home Mom who home-schools her children, trains them to become responsible adults, teaches them music, reads to THEM, cooks, cleans and makes the house they live in – a HOME. This person (IMO) works harder than the one with a job, because there is no paycheck, she does all her work and doesn’t get to see something ‘tangible’ for it that translates out to cash.

Likewise, if the working Mom is a waitress (who works her tail off) or a school teacher, who teaches other peoples children 6-7 hours a day, or one of those I mentioned above who fills a position that basically just takes a salary… There is a big difference between those ‘working Moms’…

Stay at home Moms have a greater influence on their kids (in general) because they are THERE for them. Easier lifestyle? I cannot answer that.

Working Moms do a disservice to both their children and their employer. They perform both at a percentage of what is required. Often, the childless employees have to carry the burden of the “working Mom”. The children, on the other hand, have no stability when it comes to consistency of care, discipline and even their diet. The majority of overweight children statistically are under the “care” of working and single mothers. Also, the children are not allowed to relax and be children, as they are forced to conform to Mommy’s schedule…being rushed here and there.

Mothers who choose to nurture their children 100% of the time are not a burden on society and, typically, their child flourishes under their constant care and guidance. For self evident reasons, stay at home Mothers are able to give their child a proper diet as well, and the children are more healthy for it. Children of Stay at Home Moms are not forced to rush hither and yon to accomodate Mommy’s wants, and can spend their time in relative peace, which is more conducive to a healthy lifestyle.
The difference between the two is that ‘working Moms” are selfish and materialistic and Stay at Home Moms love their children above and beyond material desires and social status.

Your views on feminism and stay-at-home vs working Moms?

I think feminism provided women with a choice. I was lucky enough, with two college degrees, to be able to choose to be a stay-at-home mom. I read sooo much here against feminism. I have so much respect for career Moms. And I have so much respect for stay-at-home Moms.

Yigly Admin answers:

The interesting thing about feminism is that there isn’t one definition – you can alter it to fit your beliefs. What’s interesting about this whole “choice” thing though is that not all women have the choice to be a stay at home mom because of feminism. Specifically, women of color who are proportionately more likely to be low-income earners without the choice to stay at home. They need to work to care for their children. Single moms may also not have the choice. Just a thought.

But I totally agree with you – why are we arguing? Both roles have their own respective challenges and both are totally acceptable in society. I don’t know if you’ve ever encountered this, but sometimes women look down upon women like you who have college degrees and choose to be stay-at-home moms. Not saying that I do…because that whole mindset kinda pisses me off. If you have the resources to stay at home, you are so fortunate and you should take advantage of it!

The focal point of your job on the helpdesk is to satisfy that customer by any means necessary. You might not have the right answer at the right time. But, inform your interviewer that your primary purpose is to GET that answer for that customer, no matter what.

Always be informative to that customer. Be honest…even when you lie…to that customer.

ALWAYS be courteous and friendly…even when you don’t feel like it.

Quotes for the ages. Know the answers?

2) After the incredible finish where Mansell was leading at the last lap, but mysteriously stalled, leaving the win to Nelson Piquet, what was the famous quote that Piquet said after the race in relation to his feelings when he saw Mansell stranded? What was the GP and what year?

3) “Aerodynamics are for those who cannot manufacture good engines”. Who said that?

4) “I got punched by Ayrton in the first race, crashed in my second, destroyed four cars in the third and got banned in my fourth”. Who was that driver?

5) Reporter: “Did tyres play an important role today?” “Oh, absolutely. You see, they keep the wheels from touching the ground”. Who was the driver who answered?

6) “We had a lot of problems this weekend, and I am looking forward to getting to the next race so we can have some more”. Who said this quote?

7) “In my time, the three drivers I saw racing with that extra something, the quality setting them apart from their rivals, were Villeneuve, Prost and Senna”. Many could have said the same, but whose quote is this specifically?
“Racing drivers have balls, unfortunately none of them are crystal”. Whose quote is this?

10) “Tell me, where it’s written that this team needs two number two drivers?”. Who is the driver that raised this question, to whom, and when?
After 5 answers, no one got 6), 7) and 10) right. Hints:

6) It was a Finnish driver.

7) Although Lauda may have said that as well (I am not aware, though), I specifically refer to a French driver.

10) We are talking late 1970′s.
It’s time for the answers:

1) Mario Andretti in reference to the Lotus type 79 and its aerodynamic qualities

2) Aside for the “I don’t feel sorry for Nigel”, Nelson Piquet Sr. said something that even translated in several languages will remain a classic. For decency-indecency reason I cannot quite repeat the exact words, but it has something to do with what men do when they reach the point of procreating!!!

3) Enzo Ferrari

4) Eddie Irvine

5) Alan Jones

6) Mika Salo

7) Patrick Tambay

9) Nelson Piquet, Sr.

Try this…

The Water Closet

In the days when you couldn’t count on a public facility to have indoor plumbing, an English woman was planning a trip to Germany. She was registered to stay in a small guesthouse owned by the local schoolmaster. She was concerned as to whether the guesthouse contained a WC. In England, a bathroom is commonly called a WC, which stands for water closet.

She wrote the schoolmaster inquiring about the location of the nearest WC. The schoolmaster, not fluent in English, asked the local priest if he knew the meaning of WC. Together they pondered possible meanings of the letters and concluded that the lady wanted to know if there was a “Wayside Chapel” near the house. A bathroom never entered their minds. So the schoolmaster wrote the following reply:

Dear Madam,

I take great pleasure in informing you that the WC is located 9 miles from the house. It is located in the middle of a grove of pine trees, surrounded by lovely grounds. It is capable of holding 229 people and is open on Sundays and Thursdays. As there are many people expected in the summer months, I suggest you arrive early. There is, however, plenty of standing room. This is an unfortunate situation especially if you are in the habit of going regularly.

It may be of some interest to you that my daughter was married in the WC, as it was there that she met her husband. It was a wonderful event. There were 10 people in every seat. It was wonderful to see the expressions on their faces. My wife, sadly, has been ill and unable to go recently. It has been almost a year since she went last, which pains her greatly.

You will be pleased to know that many people bring their lunch and make a day of it. Others prefer to wait till the last minute and arrive just in time! I would recommend your ladyship plan to go on a Thursday, as there is an organ accompaniment. The acoustics are excellent and even the most delicate sounds can be heard everywhere. The newest addition is a bell that rings every time a person enters. We are holding a bazaar to provide plush seats for all since many feel it is long needed.

I look forward to escorting you there myself and seating you in a place where you can be seen by all.

With deepest regards,

Bearing in mind Lua Lua has a very traumatic past 18 months I think it would be a bit unfair to rate him on last years performance alone.

I reakon Lua Lua will show what he is worth this season, be that good or poor.

A few things about my uncle’s company…. ( Revised)?

The old question was,
“Alright guys, my uncle is a co-founder of a budding telecommunications company. We’re international now, and I’m thinking of joining the company as a rep. I have one question of major importance to me. The payment plan is explained to us as a “residual income” but how they pay us is how many people we recruit as a customer or a rep. The more people we have under us, the more we get payed, also the more people our people under us have, we get payed more too. To me this sounds like a pyramid system. But its not at the same time because everyone can work their way up if they so choose…. I just want to know if being younger I should take my chances with this. I was going to do it on the side on top of my other jobs. I’ve heard of people making upwards of $30,000 a month (sounds hard to believe i know) by working at this. Fast money’s appealing but i’m concerned about anything bad that could happen with this sort of payment schedule. Any ideas/advice/input would be really appreciated.”

I now add:
The company’s name is ACN. I failed to mention this before due to possible legal disputes but ah well. I wanna know the truth and get some info on it.

Sorry, but it sounds like scam-ola to me.

Do you have to pay to become an ‘employee’? Sure, the guy on top of the pyramid claims to get $30,000 per month ROFL. Does the company actually have any ‘hard’ assets like property and equipment?

Are you going to get a W-2 form or a 1099 form for the ‘residual income’? Or is it all under the table? If it is under the table, that’s a sure sign that it’s not legit.

Depends on the company, the product/service, and the management team. There have been a few, but most only allow the few at the top to make all the $$.
There is a company from Europe who will soon be launching their E-Commerce portal here in the US and they offer opportunities to earn unlimited amounts of residual income.
Need help gaining financial foothold?

hi my wife and i are expecting our first child in december of this year. I am currently employed in a dead end minimum wage job and she babysits for a lady full time. Neither of us are satisfied with our current lifestyle and its likely shell be unable to work for awhile after our baby comes. I have been reading several books such as rich dad poor dad think and grow rich and several others regarding finances trying to find ways to better our lives but its a lot of information to process. Ive looked into mlm company’s and do not think i would like doing that for a way of life. Ive considered real estate investing but have poor credit and don’t know if i could get property’s for little money and immediately rent them out for some residual income? Im just trying to explore all my options as im ready to live a better life with my wife and child that’s on the way so if anyone can help with ideas or suggestions on what to do to escape crazy everyday life in the rat race please let me know Thanks!!!!

Yigly Admin answers:

Seriously, you have got to go back to school. The deal with any of the books that you are reading, and the proposals that you are making is that they require capital, and risk tolerance. It sounds as though you have no extra capital to invest, and as you have a baby on the way, your risk tolerance should be relatively low.

This is the perfect impetus to go back to school, even part time, online, nights, whatever you can muster. The FAFSA(free applications for federal student aid) is still available in many states for the next several days, so fill it out, and try to at least get into your local community college part time. A few years(even 2 is better than none) can make all the difference in the long run.

At this point you have the choice of providing for your family in the long run, or maintaining the status quo. Which are you going to choose?

Good luck!

Need Idea’s on how to make money!?

Hi everyone – I’m Rick! (age 19) I had a quick question and was hoping you guys can help me put with it. Well, around 2 years ago I was diagnosed with a very rare muscle disease that eventually left me bedridden… And after being on medication and rehab, today I’m glad to say I’m 100% healthy – Thank God!

As a college student and mother how can I earn a substantial income?

I’m a full-time college student, graduating next May and a mommy to a18 month old. My husband and I are splitting up and up until now he’s been the bread winner, so I’m now left figuring out how I’m going to pay the bills, stay in school and be a present mother.
